Mobile Room Roof Top -
Fact Sheet
Aussie Traveller has designed three units
These units are specifically designed to meet the needs of the 4WD camping market. Flexibility and ease of operation are of paramount importance in all our designs. Each model can be erected or packed away in a few minutes and are large and spacious enough to provide ample accommodation for couples, groups or families. Manufactured from premium quality components, these are made to withstand the harsh conditions of the Australian outback climate, providing comfortable shelter and accommodation.
Aussie Traveller also guarantees the products sold against any manufactured faults or workmanship defects, providing the market with the highest quality available.
Features of the Mobile Roof Top
Measurements for the upstairs bedroom area are 2 m x 1.5 m and comes complete with a medium density covered foam mattress measuring approximately 1.9 m x 1.37 m x 100 mm thick. A higher density or thicker foam mattress is available at an additional charge, if required.
Ventilation for the bedroom is provided by three large windows, all insect meshed with canvas flaps zipped internally. There is an abundance of head height and feeling of spaciousness about each unit.
Measurements for the downstairs room are 2 m x 18. m deep in the Standard model and 3.5 m deep in the Family model. This provides more than enough space for changing, storage or additional sleeping. With the Family model, there is additional room for two double Decker stretchers. The Bed Only Model has no downstairs room.
The Standard Model - insect meshed openings are featured in the downstairs area with zipped canvas flaps. The long side wall is fully zippered and capable of being rolled up or extended and used as an awning. (Poles, pegs and ropes not provided.) The full width mesh wall under is also zippered to maintain maximum ventilation and insect proofing. In the Family Model, there are additional fully zippered windows all insect meshed, with internally zippered flaps.
A fourth wall in the downstairs area falls flush against the side of the vehicle and permits access through a zippered opening to the side of the rear passenger door. This zippered access is tailor made to suit the vehicle or trailer.
A safety bed rail, adjustable and removable, is provided for the upstairs sleeping area to help prevent the accidental rolling out from the upstairs bed and safeguard restless sleepers.
A heavy duty vinyl travel cover is supplied to keep the unit clean and dry whilst in its folded/collapsed state and travelling. The cover zips close on three sides and are fastened via sailtrack on the rear side. When erecting, simply unzip the cover and pull back, turning inside out to become the awning over the rear tailgate door of a 4WD. (Ropes, poles and pegs are provided for erecting this awning.)
A two part aluminium ladder is provided in its own bag. The ladder is easily mounted and folds away on top of the mattress for easy storage when travelling.
The unit is manufactured from quality Australian made Canvas. Both fabrics breathe well being 65% polyester and 35% cotton. This blended fabric is completely waterproof and resistant to mould and mildew.
Insect mesh - we consider the "Tentex" insect mesh we use in all our doors and window openings to be the only option if you are considering the Australian bush
"Tentex" is a coated finely woven polyester mesh resulting in a much stronger, higher quality insect proof mesh than the cheaper fibreglass flyscreen, shade mesh or similar products used by other manufacturers. (Sandflies are not restricted to beach areas, but are prevalent in all inland areas of Australia, particularly after rain!)
Simple removal of the complete unit from your 4WD, for storage in a dry area for next use.
All walls in the downstairs area are capable of being unzipped from the roof. This will accommodate any alterations that may arise from say the transfer to another vehicle, so that it can be completed without having to dismantle the whole unit.
A Free Standing Leg Kit is an optional extra for both models allowing the unit to be disengaged from the vehicle and the vehicle driven away. This allows touring whilst leaving the camp site set up and not having to pack up camp each time the vehicle is to be moved. Note - whilst standing on the leg kit, the unit must not be slept in until the vehicle is returned and remounted.
Aussie Traveller has manufactured these units for many years, our customers have told us from all over Australia "the most impressive features are the spacious head height, and extremely good quality and ventilation of each unit".....They are strong and robust, capable of withstanding Australia's harsh conditions.
